If you're a woman with large breasts or know someone who is, you've probably noticed just how hard it is to find a bra that fits properly. Sizes are often wrong, sales people often give you a larger band size to make up for cup size issues, they chafe and they're almost never pretty.
God forbid you be slim with an even slightly larger than average chest size, as you'll be condemned to wearing bras that weren't designed for your shape and don't support your boobs properly. Its not uncommon in my experience for women to be uncomfortable and upset with their bras simply because the band size or cup size are way off.
Of course, many women have a personal desire to not have what they perceive as "huge" breasts, so being told they may be a DD or G or other larger cup size throws them off, but don't worry; your boobs probably didn't get that much bigger since your last bra, your bras more likely way too small before.
If you already know you have bigger than average boobs, you can skip this bit. Its quite possible
if you don't think you do that you're not wearing the right size however, and it could be causing you back pain or unnecessary
chaffing.

Some basic tips: the strap going around your back should be about level with the underside of the cups in the front. If it rides up a lot, its not the right size. The cups should fully fit the shape of your breasts. With the exception of some types of "cleavage" or push-up bras, where the underwires meet in the middle should be near your ribcage, not protruding forward or sitting in front of your cleavage. The breast should also not be visible or accessible from underneath or beside the bra, both indicating a cup size that is too small.
